Carmel Apple Cream Cheese Appetizer
Yield: 8 servings
Ingredients:
Salted Caramel Sauce
Makes a little over 2 cups.
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
Cream Cheese Appetizer
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 4 tablespoons toffee bits
- 4 apples / pears, cored and thinly sliced
Directions:
- Salted Caramel Sauce
- Do not stir: Add sugar to saucepan.
- Do not stir: Add water and bring to a boil until golden.
- Remove from heat, and stir in remaining ingredients. Mixture may foam.
- Cool
- Place cream cheese on a serving plate. Create a small well on the top.
- Spoon the caramel sauce into the well, allowing some to drip over the sides. Sprinkle evenly with toffee bits.
- Serve with sliced apple and pears.
